When updating shifts in the Duty Roster, you may notice that some employees’ shifts are greyed out and cannot be updated. This usually happens for two reasons:
1. Duty Roster Control Is Inactive
If an employee is assigned to a schedule where Duty Roster Control is set to Inactive, their shift cannot be updated from the Duty Roster.
How to activate Duty Roster Control:
- Go to Settings > Attendance > Schedule.
- Select the relevant schedule.
- Scroll down to Duty Roster Control and toggle the button to Active.
- Click Save.
2. Attendance Is Locked
If an employee’s attendance is already locked, no changes can be made to their shifts. You’ll need to unlock it in Individual Attendance before updating the Duty Roster.
How to unlock attendance:
Go to Attendance > Attendance > Individual Attendance and select the employee.
Hover over the shift, a white box will appear.
Tick the box on the specific days you want to unlock (or use the top box to select all working days).
Click Unlock.
The attendance status will change to Pending, and you can then update the employee’s shift in the Duty Roster.
With these steps, you should be able to update greyed-out shifts.
