Auto Cancel Pending Request

Modified on Thu, 18 Sep at 6:09 PM

Worksy allows you to automatically cancel requests if they're not approved within a set number of days before or after the requested date.

Note: Requested date means the date the request was submitted, not the actual leave or overtime date being applied for.

Path: Settings > General > Company

If employee requests are being cancelled immediately, it may be due to the Auto Cancel Request setting in your company settings.

This feature applies to:

  • Leave Requests
  • Self-Overtime (OT)
  • Time Off

How to Activate Auto Cancel Request

Step 1

On the left menu, go to Setting (a) > General (b) > Company (c).

Step 2

Choose your company from the list. You’ll be redirected to the General Company Settings page. Click Edit (top right of screen).

Step 3

Scroll to the bottom until you find the Request section.

  • Toggle the button to Active
  • Enter the number of day(s)
  • Choose whether before or after the requested date

Note: The requested date refers to the submission date.

Important:

  • If you set the value to 0, all submitted requests will be immediately auto-cancelled.
  • For other values, the system calculates an auto-cancel date based on your setting. The request will only be auto-cancelled on or after that date. If the date has not yet arrived, the request stays pending.

Please adjust this setting carefully in accordance with your company’s policy.

An employee can view the cancelled request in My Request.

The Remark Log shows that the leave request was cancelled automatically by the system.

Example: Auto-Cancel on Leave Request

Submit date: 27 Aug.

Cancel date: 29 Aug (2 days after submission)

Scenario 1:

Overtime request for 27 Aug was submitted on 27 Aug, then auto-cancelled by the system on 29 Aug.

Scenario 2:

Leave request for 27 Aug was submitted on 27 Aug, then auto-cancelled by the system on 29 Aug.
