This guide will show you how to set up leave bring forward.
Please proceed to Setting up Leave Entitlement & Earning to set up entitlement, or head over to Setting up leave types to set up your leave types if you haven't done that yet.
To set up leave type, refer to Setting Up Leave Type.In Worksy, leave taken/deduction priority follows this order:
- BF with expired date
- BF no expired
- earn/adjustment with expired date
- earn/adjustment no expired date
a) Leave Bring Forward Method
- By None = Nothing is brought forward
- Fixed Maximum day(s) = refer back to the Entitlement Table, where there is a column that says Maximum Bring Forward Days
- % From Balance = Decide how many % of leave balance to carry forward. For example, an employee has 12 days of leave, next year they will have 6 bring forward leave if you put in 50%.
To set your maximum carry forward, go to your left menu > Settings > Leave > Annual Leave, press edit, and press the Entitlements page
Click the pencil icon on the right side of the table.
You will be redirected to this page, and this is where you can set up individual entitlements for every employee.
Put the maximum amount of bring forward leave to the 4th column.
Note: If you set "zero" here, then your maximum bring forward is zero.

b) Leave Credited from Attendance Module Will Expire Within
This setting is in Setting > Replacement Leave.
If "day" or "month"is selected, the expiry date is counted from the earn date.
If "Specific" is selected, you can define "end of current year" or "end of next year" based on the month the leave is credited. Make sure you fill in all 12 months, without selecting the expiry options means these months will not have any expiry date.
For each month, you can choose either:
End of Current Year: the leave will expire on 31 December of the same year it was credited.
End of Next Year: the leave will expire on 31 December of the following year.
c) Leave Bring Forward Will Expire Within
Leave bring forward expiry date is counted from the 1st day of Jan.
Example:
Leave expires in 180 days. This is counted from 1 Jan of the following year.
