FAQ: Edit Employment Details in Employee Profile Timeline

Modified on Tue, 11 Nov at 4:33 PM

You can update employee details directly in Employee > Directory > [Select Employee] > Timeline.

Changes made and saved here will automatically reflect in the employee’s profile. Refer:  How to Update Employment Details

Rule of Thumb

  • Hire date restrictions: You cannot change the hire date to a later (future) date if there are existing records between the old and new hire dates. This would cause a conflict with existing events or progressions.
  • Effective date handling: Changes will only appear in the Timeline when the effective date (set in the Progression screen) arrives.
  • Salary changes: If multiple salary changes occur consecutively with the same reason (e.g. annual increment), only the first change will display the reason. Subsequent changes follow the same reason unless a different one is specified.
Note: These rules are subject to updates as the system continues to be enhanced.
