What is Period Payroll?
Period Payroll refers to a payroll that follows a definite number of days that would be determined by the company policy instead of calendar days.
Any payroll that does not follow calendar days can be processed using the Period Payroll Template
1)Employee Profile
Navigate to Employee > Employee Profile > Employment Tab > Basic Salary > Pay Mode. Set as Period Rate as shown below
2) Set the Period System Labels
Then, navigate to Settings > General > System Labels > Payroll Period to create labels for each payroll period.
Each of period refers to the payroll timeline that you going to process payroll for
Example : January is for the normal payroll process but for the Payroll Period, we can Period 1 to indicate the payroll timeline.
3) Create the Payroll Period Template
Navigate to Settings > Payroll > Payroll Period Template and click Add New to create your own Payroll Period Template.
Set the start date and end date for your payroll timeline.
Example: Your payroll timeline is every 28 days So you can set it as shown in the below image.
4) Create a Payroll Period Policy
Navigate to Settings > Payroll > Payroll Policy > Custom Period > Add New
The General Settings Tab looks the same as the Monthly Payroll Policy.
However, it is different in the Cut-Off Period Tab which consists of the Cut-Off Period Template.
You can choose the period template as you have set in step 3.
5) Process Payroll Period payroll
To process the Payroll Period we need to use the Custom Period screen. Navigate to Payroll > Process > Custom Period.
As you can see from the below image, the process payroll screen seems the same as the Monthly Process Payroll Screen but has a Payroll Period option(b).
You can view the Payroll Period option if you have set the Step 1 setting.
Description:
a) Payroll Year = To choose the year of payroll
b) Payroll Period = Choose the payroll period (indicate month)
c) Payroll cycle = Choose your pay cycle( month-end/bonus/mid-month)
d) Payment Date = Set your payroll payment date
e) Checkboxes
f) Payroll policies = Choose your payroll period policy
