How to Process Biweekly Salaries for New Joiners

Modified on Wed, 21 Dec, 2022 at 5:11 PM

Purpose: Easily generate biweekly payrolls for new joiners.

Here are two ways to process a new joiner's first month's salary on a biweekly basis:

a) If a new joiner's 'Start Date' falls on a different date than the first day of cut-off:

Example:

Salary Cut Off: Current 1st to 15th

Start Date: Current 4th

There's no need to change the payment terms from 'Biweekly' to 'Monthly'. You may process their salary as usual for the month by calculating the whole month's salary by keeping the payment term as biweekly

The system will be able to calculate the second payroll (month end) according to the biweekly payment term.

b) If a new joiner's 'Start Date' falls on the same day as the first day of the cut-off:

Example:

Salary Cut Off: Current 1st to 15th

Join Date: Current 1st

You can still process both biweekly payrolls (mid-month and end-month payroll) for new joiners.
