Why is my employee's leave entitlement not showing up?

Modified on Wed, 3 Dec at 6:35 PM

There are two possible causes of this situation:

Possible Root Cause #1: Make sure your employee is entitled to the leave type that is missing.

Possible Root Cause #2: Company’s leave earning method is by month

Possible Root Cause #1: Make sure your employee is entitled to the leave type that is missing.

You will need to make sure your employees are entitled to the leave types that you have created under Setting up leave types: Knowledge Base (freshdesk.com)

Step 1: Go to General > Leave > Leave Type > Leave

Step 2: Select any current added leave type, then go to entitlements. On the right top corner, click edit. Under conditionals, click the “pen” icon.

Step 3: Under “Entitled Employee”, the user will be able to view the list of employees under all selected conditions. Users may Include or Exclude any employee(s) on the list using the Toggle.

If the employee is not inside the list, the user may scroll down and click to open up “Additional Employee” to extend the search > Click “Add Employee”

Step 4: Click “save” to confirm entitled employees > click “save” to confirm leave type setting.

Solution: Generate leave entitlement for the employee

To generate leave entitlement, please refer to Generate Leave Entitlement.

To check leave balance and entitlement, refer to: How to Check Leave Balance/Entitlement.

Possible Root Cause #2: Company’s leave earning method is by month

Depending on the scheduler setting in the Setting > Leave > Leave Type:

1. If "Previous Month" is selected, the system will run the entitlement until the last month.

2. If "Current Month" is selected, the system will include this month's entitlement.

This setting can be changed under the entitlement policy in General Tab. For more information, refer to Setting Up Leave Type.
