Creating Overtime Pattern Template

Modified on Fri, 22 Aug at 3:41 PM

Step 1

On your homepage, go to your left menu, go to Settings(a), then click Attendance(b) then scroll down to click Overtime Pattern(c).

Step 2

You will be redirected to this page where you will be able to see the overtime patterns list.

To add an overtime pattern, click the blue Add New button in the top right corner.

Next, you can also rearrange your OT rate priority level by dragging the symbol below.

Step 3

Below is the general setting to create the overtime pattern.

a) Overtime Rate Name*: This is the compulsory field that needs to be filled in. You may choose any related name to be in the overtime rate name

b) Day Types Included in this overtime pattern: By ticking that day type checkbox (Workday/Offday/Restday/Holiday), this overtime pattern will be counted if the staff does overtime on those day types. You may untick the checkbox if you don't want to have the employee to have this overtime rate for the particular day type.

c) Overtime Rate Label*: This is the compulsory field that needs to be filled in. You may choose any related name to be on the overtime rate label

d) Enable Custom Payroll Item: By activating this button, you may choose the payroll item that you want to be included and choose it in the section below

e) Overtime hour range: Needs to be set from (hour & minute) to (hour & minute) and choose the rate pattern to be variable or fixed. Next, you may choose the overtime rate and round to none or custom and input the round to hours (if you choose custom)

f) Add: The add button can be clicked to add the overtime hour range if you want to have different overtime rates in different overtime hour ranges.

Eg ;

1. From 0hr & 0m - 1hr & 0m ; OT rate : 1.0

2. From 1hr & 0m - 2hr & 0m ; OT rate : 1.5

There are two rate patterns can be chosen, which are Fixed and Variable.

Fixed: Fixed rate pattern is to allow you to add a fixed amount of overtime pay

The rate pattern is fixed to be paid RM15 for 1-2 hour range, so if the staff performs overtime for a 1-2 hour time range, the employee will receive RM15 per hour.

Variable: The Variable rate pattern is to be chosen, calculated by the overtime pay in the payroll policy, and defined by the overtime rate.

The rate pattern is variable, and a 1.0 overtime rate is to be paid if the staff performs overtime from 1-2 hours.

Step 4

After completing the above steps, you may click the Conditions (a) section to choose the filter(if any) and click Next(b).

Step 5

Click Save after confirming the selected employee to be included in this overtime pattern.
