This article explains why a leave type is not generated for an employee after they become entitled to a leave, or when their entitlement or status has been updated.
Why This Happens
In most cases, this happens because the Leave Scheduler has not run yet.
Worksy provides a Leave Scheduler feature that automatically generates leave for entitled employees. When properly configured, the system will create or update leave entitlements based on eligibility changes.
However, if:
- The scheduler is not set up, or
- The scheduler has not run yet
The leave type will not be automatically generated.
Common Situations That Require Leave Generation
Leave entitlement generation is required when employee eligibility changes depending on the applicable criteria set in the entitlement table section, including but not limited to:
- New joiner or recently confirmed employee
- Change in year of service
- Change in marital status
- Childbirth
If the scheduler has not run after these changes, the leave will not be created automatically.
How to Fix It
HR/Admin must manually run the Generate Leave Process to make the leave type available to the employee.
Refer to: Generate Leave EntitlementHow to Enable Automatic Leave Generation
To ensure the Leave Scheduler runs and generates leave automatically, please verify the following:
Leave Type is created
The leave type must already be set up in the system.Entitlement Table is configured
The entitlement table must be properly defined.Conditions are set correctly
The eligibility condition must be configured accurately.
For example: If the condition is set as Female AND Married, the system will automatically credit the leave only to employees who meet both criteria.
Once all the above are properly configured, the Leave Scheduler will automatically generate leave for eligible employees without requiring manual action.
